Hydro Cleansing are currently looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join our vibrant team in the Croydon area.

Hydro Cleansing Ltd (HCL) a leading provider of Environmental Services in London and the South East, offering a fast, responsive and highly effective service including CCTV drainage inspection and surveying, drain and sewer maintenance, waste management, confined space and emergency response.

Accounts Assistant

Purpose of the Job

Working as part of the Accounts team, the Accounts Assistant will take on a varied role, being responsible for purchase ledger and also preparing and maintaining other financial records. You will work alongside a team of credit controllers and senior accounts staff to ensure the smooth running of the accounts department to continually improve Hydro Cleansing’s financial position.

Role / Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger

  • Ensuring all purchases are supported by authorised purchase orders
  • All invoices are to be entered onto Sage within 3 days of receipt
  • Dealing with supplier queries via telephone and email

Other duties could include

  • Processing the pre-invoices documents to Raise invoices on the system
  • Issuing invoices to respective customers list of email addresses – shared duty with another member of staff
  • Processing the credit note request sheet > raising them and issuing them
  • Aged Debtors reminders emailing; issuing Statements
  • Processing invoices onto Customers invoices Portal (instead of issuing them PDF)
  • Answering sales ledger queries (externally and internally)
  • Banking support – see reference payment used by customer meaning matrix is used
  • Ad-hoc administrative duties as and when necessary
Experienced Required
  • Experience within similar position (sales ledger entries, credit control and purchase ledger)
  • SAGE 50 Accounts
Desired Qualification
  • AAT
  • Credit control certification or
  • Studying for a similar accounting qualification
