As part of our ambitious plans, we are seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our Business Development Team. This role is pivotal in identifying, assembling, and submitting tenders and bids to drive our business forward.
Role Overview:
The Business Development Specialist will lead the effort in crafting persuasive and compelling bid and tender responses. We require a candidate with extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the tender and bid writing process. In collaboration with various stakeholders, you will ensure that submissions align with our strategic sales and technical direction.
Core Responsibilities & Accountabilities (Not Exhaustive):
Tender and Bid Portal Ownership: Manage and maintain company details on relevant portals, actively seeking and evaluating opportunities.
Scope Identification: Analyze opportunities, identify scope of work, and collaborate with clients to refine and align it with business requirements.
Commercial Opportunity Analysis: After in-house training, assess commercial opportunities and contribute to stakeholder reporting.
Internal Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and provide the necessary information for timely bid and tender assembly.
Support for Accreditations: Assist the compliance manager in obtaining and maintaining industry-related accreditations.
Partnership Consideration: Evaluate partnering opportunities to enhance bid competitiveness.
Compelling Responses: Craft detailed and solution-driven tender and bid responses that stand out in the competitive landscape.
Learning from Lost Bids: Analyze lost tenders and bids to identify opportunities for improvement and trend analysis.
Best Practice Development: Over time, create best-practice templates for tenders and bids, including standard information.
Experience:
Sector Background: Ideally, you have experience in the construction or environmental services sector. Alternatively, this role may suit a proven project manager interested in business development and bid management.
Tender and Bid Expertise: You must possess substantial experience in tender and bid interrogation, analysis, and response compilation.
Deadline-Driven: Comfortable working under occasional pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
