Job Description:

As an HGV Fitter at HCL Fleet Services, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our company's fleet of heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other related equipment. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Repairs: Perform major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other vehicles in our company's fleet.

Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes to ensure the fleet's reliability and safety.

Workshop Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of the workshop, ensuring it is free from oil spills and dust. Additionally, manage inventory of necessary parts and equipment.

Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with repair teams to diagnose vehicle issues and plan repairs efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of vehicles that have been repaired or serviced, documenting work performed and parts used.

Customer Support: Provide repair services to both in-house internal and external customers, delivering high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Documentation: Complete all relevant documentation and paperwork as required for each repair or maintenance task.

Mentorship: Provide support and guidance to recruits and trainees, assisting in their skill development and ensuring work meets company standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an HGV Fitter or a similar role, with expertise in heavy goods vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of HGV maintenance procedures, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
• Relevant certifications and qualifications in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and customers.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with industry regulations.
• A valid driver's license may be required.
